List of European Union’s documents

Settlement: It is in a well visible place, outside of the children’s section. Its stock is clear-cut and it is organised by partition of sciences.

History:

• 2001: We won 130 000 Ft in the application, advertised by the office of EU Political Relationships in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to purchase European Union’s documents. We put the books we bought to different shelves isolated from the other technical books.
• 2002: We won again in an invitational application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this time the amount was 150 000 Ft. Beside the financial support we could take part in a well organised, intensive, two-day training, which was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with Parliametary Library and the Hungarian Delegation of the European Comittee.  We subsribed to the European Server via the internet, which makes it possible for the users of the library to have an access to the most fresh information concerning the EU. We also organised a quiz series together with the Új Kun-Majsa weekly paper.
• 7. Sept. 2002: We organised a European Union programme during the Majsa Napok (Majsa Days). The ceremonial presentation of the EU-corner was held there too.
• 2003: We won 140 000 Ft in the application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Our director took part in a field trip to Brussels organised by the Hungarian Delegation of EU. After that we organised a quiz for elementary school’s students titled „Playful Europe”.
• 2004: We won 140 000 Ft in the invitational application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Together with the European Information Point of the Bács-Kiskun region we set an EU-moll up and popularized our special collection as well.
• 2005: We won 150 000 Ft from The Communicational Department of the Prime Minister’s bureau in the EU’s application of libraries, which we spent on purchasing documents and organising programmes.
• until 21. okt. 2008 we has been a European voluntary worker sender and receiver place.

Collection of local knowledge

We collect the works of local authors and works concerning local people, documents that have a relationship with Kiskunmajsa, with Bács-Kiskun Shire and the local publishers works. You can find those documents here that give a deeper vision into the historical, political, scientific, artistic, linguistic, literary worth of the town, the city and the nation. We save the documents made by local publishers an press. There also can be found dedicated works of famous people in that collection.

Settlement:
We put the collection to a safe place, to the director’s office. Borrowing documents of local knowledge is only available for a shorter period and thesis’s cannot be borrowed at all.
